I began my professional career as a physical therapist and I have been serving the adult and geriatric populations for over 30 years. Although I have truly enjoyed the opportunity to assist my patients, my focus has now shifted from healthcare to travel. I have founded Beacon Travel Companions as a way to continue to serve Seniors and individuals with disabilities but in a different capacity. As a travel companion, I accompany and assist my clients who do not feel comfortable traveling alone. Trips might include a vacation, a relocation to live closer to family, or a special event like a grandchild's wedding. Because of my background as a physical therapist, I bring to the job extensive experience in assisting others with mobility limitations, I am comfortable working with individuals who have memory loss and dementia, and I am familiar with a variety of medical equipment. I am also certified in CPR, I am certified as a Dementia Practitioner through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners , and I am certified as an Accessible Travel Advocate through Special Needs Group. I am affiliated with Wheel the World which is an organization dedicated to making travel more accessible to the disabled community.Combine the above qualifications with my skill as a detailed travel planner and my customers can count on a personalized trip plan without the stress of all the research.
