In this role, I have multiple responsibilities crossing areas of purchasing, material planning and customer service for a major client. I am responsible for material order placement and expediting shipments with both domestic and international manufacturers. I process sales orders based on the customer's purchase orders, as well as enter production work orders, developed from material availability timelines and customer requirement dates. I assist sales in facilitating the supplier-customer relationship and aid in inventory management, product life cycle and design change.

As Strategic Buyer II, I was responsible for procurement of production items in assigned categories, as well as all non-production items required for facility operations. I was the key buyer for all international purchases and was responsible for vetting and onboarding new import sources. I was in charge of purchase order placement, tracking/expediting deliveries and overseeing supplier performance. I participated in cross-functional, project team assignments to coordinate corrective action processes and evaluate and recommend supply chain enhancements. I negotiated supplier pricing contracts, as well as worked closely with key suppliers to develop replenishment programs to ensure consistent availability of materials. I engaged with suppliers to create awareness and drive performance in the areas of material availability, on-time delivery, quality and cost. I also interacted daily with plant operations in the pursuit of continuous improvement.

I worked directly with our major client and sales team to ensure customer requirements were met within a designated time frame. I worked directly with customers orders from the initial request for quote to the delivery of goods. My duties included processing customer orders, analyzing usage to develop forecast for future requirements, invoicing, managing aging receivables and problem solving for missing and/or damaged product. In addition to these responsibilities, I also assisted with the daily EDI transactions.

I supervised two account coordinators within the LA Darling Wood Division. I personally oversaw their daily work to ensure that the customers felt their accounts were being provided with excellent service. In addition to supervising, I was also exclusively responsible for one major account and shared responsibilities for another. I trained new hires and was back-up for all accounts, when needed. Other duties included directing daily production meetings, working with engineering and manufacturing on quality issues and project deadlines, assisting shipping to ensure orders were shipped and invoiced timely and participating in the management of aging receivables for all accounts.

My responsibilities included processing and managing sales order and forecast analysis, coordinating shipping activities and developing the relationship between the customer and manufacturing. I worked directly with sales and engineering teams to enhance my customer base and develop product and process knowledge. Being a team player, with the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines, was essential.

I served as a liaison between manufacturing, sales and the customer. I worked directly with both national and international accounts as well as sales. I issued formal customer quotations and maintained up-to-date customer files. I handled all aspects of customer service in an effort to coordinate sales and product exposure.

I was responsible for the procurement of raw materials and finished goods required to meet manufacturing deadlines for the wood fixture business. I negotiated pricing and delivery of materials to ensure a steady supply and demand course. During this time I also obtained supply management certifications, Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) in 1999 and Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) in 2002.
