Assisted in preparing Superior Court cases for trial, many of which include financial fraud charges, but also include larceny, arson, drug, and murder charges. Trial preparation tasks include conducting witness interviews, case law research, learning trial strategies, preparing exhibits, and coordinating court appearances by victims and witnesses. Additional tasks include reviewing medical records, tax returns, and financial records, including bank statements and accounting/audit documents. Other day-to-day tasks include discussing merits of incoming cases with assistant district attorneys and detectives to determine what charges to file initially, what charges to prosecute, and whether charges should be added in a particular case. Assist in preparing search warrant documents and subpoenas for business records. Participate in district court trials involving charges of communicating threats, assault and battery, and misdemeanor larceny, among others. Conduct plea hearings and complete discovery, including criminal record-level worksheets.

Legal intern in the Asset Management Legal Department. Assisted with legal research in many areas such as wage/employment law, securities law, and business associations law. Also reviewed and compared contracts for subsidiaries, joint ventures, and mergers to determine what risks should be eliminated or minimized. Completed several structure charts for clients and subsidiaries of the company. Attended meetings and conference calls to better understand complex legal issues within the company, and then utilized that information to complete projects.
