Root-to-Fruit is a leadership development consultancy enabling leaders to align culture to purpose. Leaders are supported to lead a culture transformation process rooted in a biblical worldview that aligns values and relationships necessary to accelerate holistic organizational performance. This role leads the consultancy group’s partnership development with impact businesses and civil society organizations in Africa.

Support extending financial services to vulnerable rural households living in extreme poverty. After visiting VisionFund in the Dominican Republic and Tanzania, Ms. Woodring joined World Vision USA’s National Leadership Council. Ms. Woodring advocates for World Vision’s Economic Empowerment programs (https://www.worldvisionphilanthropy.org/economic-empowerment).

Ms. Woodring moved to Tanzania to serve as GAFCo’s Chairperson, then CEO. Founded in April 2016 by a group of World Vision donors, GAFCo worked alongside World Vision and VisionFund to develop smallholder livelihood programs. In August 2016, GAFCo completed the acquisition of Quality Food Products Limited (QFP), an agriculture business located in Tanzania. GAFCo expanded its operation across eight regions in Tanzania improving the capacity of nearly 10,000 smallholder and midscale farmers producing high value crops for seven export value chains including Europe, Africa, Russia, Middle East, and USA. Marketing and sales operations were located in the Netherlands. In a 3-in-1 partnership with World Vision and VisionFund, the organizations engaged collaboratively in farmer mobilization, empowered worldview (EWV) training, farmer finance & insurance products, financial literacy and insurance training, good agricultural practices training, input distribution (e.g., seeds, fertilizer, crop care), farming technology (e.g., land preparation, planting, spraying, and harvesting), information technology (e.g., social impact data collection, mobile banking, farm management integrated with VisionFund’s T24 and internal accounting system), storage and transport logistics, processing, and export. GAFCo’s investors and Board included highly successful entrepreneurs and executives who were shocked to experience the calamitous impact of poor mindsets on the company’s financial and social performance. The GAFCo board and shareholders decided to wind down operations, and share documented lessons learned to aide economic development investments and programming.

Served as a Senior Director responsible for managing three product lines, and associated software development, customer service, documentation, and product marketing teams located in the USA (3 locations), Israel, St. Petersburg (Russia) and India. Ms. Woodring led the integration of Emprisa’s network automation technology into BMC’s business service management, data center automation and cloud management solutions. Nearly fifteen years later, Emprisa’s solution continues to be instrumental in managing the largest corporate networks including Walmart, Bank of America, Federal Reserve, Intel, and others.

Ms. Woodring founded Emprisa Networks and served as its President and CEO. Emprisa Networks became a leading provider of scalable network automation technology. Clients use the technology to rapidly provision, configure and monitor complex network policies (e.g., security, routing, performance) deployed on thousands of distributed, interconnected network elements (e.g., router, switches, firewalls, load balancers) from multiple equipment suppliers. Within four years after being founded, Emprisa Networks was acquired by BMC Software, a Fortune 500 company with $1 Billion in annual revenues.

Ms. Woodring served as Vice President and General Manager, then as the President and CEO. INRANGE was a publicly traded company with over 1,000 employees and annual revenues of $250 million. Ms. Woodring was instrumental in rightsizing the business for acquisition as it transitioned to the storage area networking (SAN) sector. As happens in the IT industry, the SAN sector experienced very rapid consolidation. Under her leadership, INRANGE was successful in certifying the company’s storage area networking solutions with worldwide storage channel partners including EMC, IBM, and Hitachi. Global sales and service offices resided in USA, Italy, UK, Germany, France, Belgium, and South Africa. In 2003, INRANGE was successfully acquired by Computer Network Technologies.

At the age of 26, Ms. Woodring founded VARCOM Corporation and served as its President and CEO. VARCOM developed network management solutions for defense telecommunication centers, large corporate data centers and commercial telecommunication carriers. VARCOM solutions were offered through worldwide sales channel partners serving the banking, insurance, retail, telecom and government sectors. For over 10 years, Ms. Woodring grew VARCOM's technology leadership and strategic partners in the data networking industry, culminating in its acquisition by INRANGE Technologies.

As a software engineer, designed and developed tactical communication systems for defense telecommunication centers, mobile air-to-ground, antisubmarine warfare, and over-the-horizon military systems. Traveled worldwide engaging US and NATO military staff observing operations in order to design and implement upgrades or new systems for improving combat communication readiness.
