In 2008, I left a full-time position working for 13+ years for an educational institution to focus my career solely on freelance remote web development. My experience & knowledge include web and database development skills in ASP.NET, PHP, ColdFusion, MS SQL, MySQL, Javascript, CSS, HTML; customizing multiple opensource packages including WordPress, phpList, phpBB, and more. I excel in web design, developing custom content management systems, administrative interfaces, and automating many business processes. My teaching background and degree minor in Communications Studies, deepens my knowledge for the user experience, interface design and/or Web 2.0 technologies and, an artistic background provides me with an eye for aesthetics on projects.

For 13+ years I worked at Rock Valley College full time in various positions--5 years in the Computers & Information Systems (CIS)academic division, 7 years in Information Technology Services Department, and 18 months as the Instructional Technology Specialist in the Academy for Teaching and Learning Excellence. I addition to this full-time employment, I also taught part-time as an adjunct faculty member for the CIS division for 10+ years.
