Meaningful accountability is key to sustainable high performance.2. Reorganization can be painful, but you must have the right people in the right seats to win over the long-term.3. The reputation and image of the organization matters more than most people believe.I was part of the entirely new board brought in to turnaround a historic agency that had become wrought with various improprieties and a tarnished image. We were a very hands on board that methodically dealt with every facet of the organization's work. It took time, but through reorganization and addressing a host of issues, including executive hiring and compensation, stricter financial oversight and auditing, and better strategic planning, the organization has emerged to become a "SEMAP High Performer" and is ranked in the top third of all Public Housing Authorities in the country.I'm proud of how far we've come, and am humbled that my colleagues unanimously voted me as the one to help pilot and champion the mission of the Dupage Housing Authority in the upcoming years.

However, it’s your reputation across all of your cases that determines the success of your career.This was a treasured experience as I was able to experience first-hand the way court decisions that directly affect individuals, companies, communities, and potentially an entire state, were made. In this role, I attended court hearings and trials, worked through the decisions and assisted with research on select cases with the presiding judges, and then drafted the court’s decision and opinion on the cases.
