I started my career as a print journalist, working for daily newspapers in Arkansas and Oklahoma. I developed skills in writing, editing and design, all invaluable in my academic career. Over the years, I've taught whatever design software was necessary to prepare students – PageMaker, QuarkXPress, Adobe Creative Suites.
