I coded Diagnosis in Centricity (Gen 4) of multiple OV, In-Pt, Radiation, Chemotherapy, Drug and Lab DX from EMRs as well as hand written dictations in McKesson and Varian’s Aria. I also conducted random E/M audits for providers and gave educational feedback to the providers. I also assisted in new hire training and Audits for the coding department.

On a daily basis in eClinical Works I would pull in provider claims from multiple Urgent Care Centers located in Tennessee and Mississippi. Audit Progress notes for correct documentation and code the E/M levels, Procedures, modifiers and Diagnosis on the claims. Kept in communication with Providers for any documentation/medical necessity corrections if needed. Assisted and helped work Follow up with insurance denials and Work Comp claims.

Pulled EFTs from Viatrack and posted to the Encounters. Instameds were ran and posted to the pts accounts. Upfronts were posted to the new charges as well and Center Deposits Posted. Posted Insurance and Pt pmts and balanced each batch. Ran reports each end month to balance out the end month revenue cycle and set up comparison reports on Excel for the Accountants.

Coded and entered Encounter forms, Posted and balanced many types of Insurance Checks. Entered Patient payments as wells as posted the insurance payments, adjustments and patient responsibility to accounts. Made calls on problems claims. Prepared paper claims for mailing. Filed and organized paperwork.
