I greet guests as they come into Roma's Pizza. I give guests menus, silverware, and take their food and drink orders. I wait on guests, making sure their drinks are full at all times, and take out food orders to the tables. I clean tables and seats, roll silverware, answer the phones to take to go orders and delivery orders, prepare salads, and desserts. I fill the salt and black pepper shakers, ketchup bottles, cheese shakers, hot pepper shakers, the salad dressings, the vegetable tray, and filled up the sugar containers. I clean the bathrooms, windows, and mirrors. I wipe down the counters and all of the machines, sweep, and vacuum the whole dining area.

This was the first year that I taught and tested Third grade SOL goals and objectives for Reading and Social Studies. I collected, purchased, and prepared materials each day for student learning activities. I attended PTO meetings, created lesson plans, homework, study guides, learning centers (hand-on), entered grades, entered attendance, and generated report cards and progress reports using a new computer program. We used the Accelerated Reader Program, Interactive Achievement Program, and the Study Island Programs on the computer. I volunteered for school dances and after school activities, including after school tutoring. I took and sent written attendance and ice cream orders to the office. I graded papers, attended teacher workshops, used an overhead projector, copier, and a Smart Board. I took and picked up students from special classes and buses to and from our classroom. I called parents and sent notes home, met and had conferences with the reading specialist, students, parents, and the principal and team teachers on the student of the month, student behavior, grades, progress, progress reports, improvements, possible retaining students, and testing results. I collected monies for fund raisers, field trips, and school pictures. The principal would come in and assess my teaching techniques. I have great classroom management skills and I am an effective teacher. My Third grade class had the highest percentage of passing grades on the SOL tests out of the two Third grade classrooms that taught Reading and Social Studies. I am very proud of all of my students!

I was a cashier. I used a computerized cash register, balanced the cash drawer before and after my shift, took inventory of cigarette packs/cartons and lottery tickets. I restocked cigarette packs, operated the Lottery machine, and collected monies. I restocked the coolers, shelves, beverage machines, cups, cup lids, straws, napkins, and food items. I cleaned up the parking lot by sweeping, picking up trash, collecting trash bags out of the bins, and putting them in the dumpster. I cleaned and restocked the bathrooms during the day and at night as needed. I cleaned the shelves, counters, windows, glass surfaces on the coolers, swept, and mopped the floors.

I taught NCSCOS (North Carolina Standard Course of Study) goals and objectives to 3rd graders in all subject areas. I taught Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Writing, and Computer skills. Third graders took EOGs (End of Grade Tests) at the end of the year on all of the goals and objectives they were taught throughout the year. Third graders were tested each 9 weeks on NCSCOS goals and objectives in Reading, Science, Social Studies, Math and Writing skills. Students would read books on their level and take a test using the Renaissance Reading computer program. I created lesson plans, homework, taught in the after school program, wrote grants, and attended workshops. I took attendance, attended PTO meetings, made notes, and phone calls to parents. I used new computer programs for attendance, entering grades for progress reports, and report cards. I met and discussed progress, behavior, areas of improvement, report cards, and had meetings with each student, their parents, and the principal. Students were tested on the books read to them and books they could read on their level on the computer program called Renaissance Reading. I was in charge of answering phones and directing them to the correct employee, filing, other secretarial duties, collecting payments by cash or credit card, and returning change.

I was responsible for delivering drinks and snacks to golfers. I also collected monies and returned change from the money bag.

I rented out skates, ran the snack bar, restocked the snack bar, cleaned up the snack bar and rental section, used the cash register to collect money and give back change, balanced the cash drawer, made cotton candy, prepared and served snow cones, hot dogs and nachos, set up and dressed up as Roller Roo for the birthday parties (went out to the floor for the birthday boy/girl and did the Hokey Pokey). As floor guard, I made sure all skaters were obeying the rules, going the correct way, observed games and made sure the beginners weren't run over by the other skaters.

I worked in the restaurant serving food items and beverages, cleaning and resetting tables, preparing salads and desserts, and washed dishes with a special dishwasher. In the lounge, I collected empty bottles to throw away and empty glasses off tables. I also cleaned floors by mopping and sweeping.

I bagged and added each item by hand to the cash register (no scanner back then), restocked food items on shelves, and swept the check out area.
