Case Research Specialist
CurrentProvides case management support and contributes to moderately complex project management functions dedicated to the requirements of the Electronics Crimes/Case Research and Archive Division of the US Department of Homeland Security, Coast Guard Investigative Service Headquarters. Conducts searches of digital and hard copy investigative records and retrieves and summarizes information in response to requests related to subjects of CGIS investigations. Operates the Field Activities Case Tracking Systems (FACTS) for processing, control, storage, and retrieval of controlled-unclassified correspondence, which supports the maintenance of historical records and a law enforcement search database. Organizes and maintains digital and hard copy CGIS records of investigation. Ensures data quality and accuracy for the check-in/check-out system for files, properly filing investigative correspondence, and that the official records are properly filed, maintained, accounted for and easy to locate. Files, boxes, labels, retrieves, scans, and prepares records for storage and retrieval. Conducts targeted, automated background searches for the Agency's security office. Pulls cases upon requests from internal customers. Assists federal/law enforcement customers by researching and copying case file records. Prepares for and observes the conduct of records management compliance reviews.
