Sherry Epperson is the Director for International Programs at Aerospace Industries Association. The position is responsible for managing operations associated with AIA's participation in international trade shows and addressing issues of potential foreign military sales. Sherry coordinates with AIA member companies as well as with DSCA (Defense Security Cooperation Agency) to determine what support is needed for each show and negotiates with the air show management and U.S. and foreign firms for the support. She develops an overall budget and appropriate expense allocation to AIA member companies, and supervises the activities prior to and during the air show. Included in the coordination is working with USG delegations and companies to connect the dots ensuring bi-lat and FMS discussion meetings during the shows as well as meetings with Codels and foreign delegations attending the shows.Sherry works with DSCA and Six Sigma advisors on the development of efficient methods and processes for air and trade show participation. She also works with DSCA general counsel and COCOM attorneys on methods to request and secure approval for tradeshow participation and the acceptance of support from non-USG entities. Sherry has over 25 years experience in event management and coordination and was co-owner of Cardinali’s Catering, a firm that specialized in providing security cleared waitstaff for high end events in the Washington, D.C. area. She was a counselor and sales manager at JC International, and a coordinator and manager for ALUs working with dual diagnosed psychiatric clients at the Rock Creek Foundation. Sherry has an Associate degree in Liberal Arts with a focus on Accounting and a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a focus on Organizational Psychology and Management.
