The Innisfail Historical Village is a seasonal museum dedicated to safeguarding and preserving the history of Innisfail and District. Our living history museum is spread over two acres of landscaped grounds in Innisfail, Alberta, and depicts an early 1900s pioneer village. Our grounds house eighteen historical buildings and over 15000 artifacts. The Innisfail Historical Village resides on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 Region and Metis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. We acknowledge all the First Nations, Metis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.As the manager, I am responsible for managing the daily administrative operations of the museum, handling communications and marketing, researching grant opportunities, and assisting in planning the museum’s learning programs and events. I work to promote and elevate our presence in the community through in-person public relations as well as print, and digital marketing. In conjunction with the Board of Directors, our mandate is to develop a sustainable strategic direction to ensure the vitality of the museum in the future. This position requires me to be hands-on, creative, and result-focused.

As a Virtual Assistant I have contracted for many different clients ranging from local small businesses, and international online businesses to large non-profits and provided a variety of services and support:Fundraising Support: Researching and contacting potential donors, managing teams through Race Roster, designing marketing material, and creating and implementing social media campaigns.Graphic Design: Past projects have included logos, posters, brochures, menus, newsletters, infographics, and social media posts in Canva Pro.Customer Support: Providing excellent customer experiences and B2B support in-person, by phone, and by email utilizing online software such as Google Meet, Zoom, Slack, Zendesk, Helpscout, and Gorgias.

My small business, Phoenix Earthworx, offered a variety of services including, landscape design, construction, and yard maintenance services. My special interests included ornamental bed design and diagnosis of pest and disease problems. Our core mission was to provide outstanding service while providing customers with ecologically sound advice in managing their home landscape. My educational background is a Bachelor of Applied Science in Landscape Management from Olds College. This well-rounded program prepares students with horticultural and landscape management knowledge, as well as business management and marketing skills needed to be successfully self-employed.

In this role, I was the main administrative contact for all the departments of a large and busy garden center. I was responsible for interacting with customers by phone, email, social media and in person. I acted as executive assistant to the owner and provided administrative support to all the department heads.Other duties included management of the Facebook page, creating and publishing newsletters and marketing materials using mainly Publisher, overseeing the content creation and ad selling in the yearly magazine publication and organizing large events held at the garden center.

As a customer relations rep, I was the first point of contact for all customers entering the branch as well as admin support for the frontline staff. I handled phone calls, email inquiries and assisted the tellers with complex transactions and customer interactions.
