The Animal Control Program has seen extensive growth in the past 8 years. We maintain a live release rate of 87% with a 13% euthanasia rate. In the last 3 years the shelter has averaged over 1200 animals per year . We are a 10 member team which includes 2 field officers as well as shelter staff. We have responded to three flooding events and two tornado's in the past 8 years. Emergency management is an important part of training both in the field and the shelter.
