In the Summer of 2021, I completed a research internship at the University of Cambridge in which we developed an web-app for learners of English and produced a intelligent tutoring system which offered a effective, efficient and more tailored experience on the learner based on their age, native language and other factors which may influence how an individual may learn English. The internship also gave me the opportunity to lean how to conduct natural language processing whilst experiencing the real-life application of research methods. I gained an understanding of the statistical analysis and machine learning that is crucial to data analysis, whilst also learning the importance of informed consent, debriefing and giving the right to withdraw when submitting the ethics review for the study conducted.

As a member of the Production Team on the King’s Affair Team, it was my responsibility to liaise with a production company on behalf of the members of the King’s Affair Team in order to deliver the ideas for the annual King’s Affair Event. This requires strong teamwork and problem solving skills, especially under the uncertain circumstances due to COVID-19. I also had professional accountability for a budget of £20,000 and cultivated business networks with production companies.

I was an Education Officer for the King’s College Student Union at the University of Cambridge. My role involved helping raise awareness of academic issues and liaising with both students and faculty members. I represented and delivered the interests and concerns of students to staff as well as implement new policies.
