Assumed full instructional responsibility for one section of AP US History and co-taught three sections of AP US Government and one section of Academic Government. Effectively engaged students using primary and secondary source analysis, strategies for document-based writing, argument development and debate, as well as critical analysis and consideration of diverse perspectives. Participated in 504 plan meetings and taught in one-to-one computing initiative classroom

Worked closely with individual students and small groups receiving intervention to develop and improve literacy and math performance.

Taught lessons in accordance with the Virginia Department of Education standards in World Geography to a 9th grade Honors class and a Standard level, Collab class with special education and language support specialists. Individually designed and taught a document-study lesson on Imperialism in Africa, a cooperative learning lesson on the Contributions of Ancient Greeks and Romans to Modern Democracy, and co-taught three lessons.

Worked with adolescents from low-socio-economic backgrounds to develop college preparatory skills and organizational strategies across content areas.

Wrote, edited, and revised editorial pieces for the weekly publication. Maintained and updated online community events calendar and website.
