I provided leadership in the design, implementation, coordination, and facilitation of the Character Education Program for Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools. The goal of the program was to achieve a greater sense of character in our middle and high school students through the deliberate delivery of character-based programs and activities. I worked collaboratively with the middle and high school administration, staff, and students, as well as the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of GJPS. The position allowed for time to build relationships and coordinate with media, the PTO, various community organizations, businesses, stakeholders, and faith-based service organizations. In conjunction with seasoned grant leaders through Marshall University, I managed the implementation of the character traits deemed vital by Columbus, Ohio's Better Business Bureau through the district's board approved curriculum, best practices, and standards prescribed by GJPS. As a team, we successfully infused a hybrid of The Boomerang Project's Link Crew program, the district recognized character education traits, a collaboratively created touchstone, and an individualized character-based curriculum into the 6 - 12 culture in a four-and-a-half year window.
