About Sherry Carlson

For over 30 years I have been an integral voice and advocate for young children. With an “advocacy by doing” philosophy, I have been an effective driver of universal prekindergarten, school/community partnerships, and early childhood workforce initiatives. I have leveraged my consulting roles with VB5, the Early Learning Partnership of Chittenden County, and the Northern Lights Career Development Center for Early Childhood Professionals to facilitate change. I joined the VB5 team full-time in the fall of 2017 and lead the Quality Program Expansion and Workforce Development Initiatives for VB5. Before beginning my consulting career in 2008, I spent over 20 years as the director of the Greater Burlington (VT) YMCA Early Childhood and Family Programs.
