Responsible for itinerary development and sales of eco-adventure trips in the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador as well as Egypt and Jordan.

Implemented small ship and overland expeditions throughout the world, working with local tour operators in areas ranging from South America to the South Pacific, Africa and beyond. Created itineraries, negotiated prices, etc. I was also responsible for passenger sales and customer service, including all follow-up after a program’s completion. I also served as ad-hoc editor and copywriter on company and passenger documents, such as brochures, photo-logs, pre-departure materials and website copy.

Managed sales and operations for Ecuador (Galapagos Islands), Peru, Chile and Argentina. Developed competitive positioning and rationale for each itinerary, handled all customer phone and email sales. Managed block space reservations and land services; insured on-site logistics; built relationships with outfitters and guides, coordinated air reservations and services.Prepared and maintained accurate and current marketing and customer materials in print and web.

Responsible for the daily content management of one of the premier websites dedicated to the 50-plus Internet user. I posted our daily front page features as well as articles throughout the various sections. I designed the weekly email newsletter which was distributed to over 35,000 members. Duties included coordinating with Community Managers throughout the US to schedule online chat events for members and guest speakrs, such as Jerry Traunfeld of The Herb Garden. I was also responsible for writing and distributing press releases and online as well as traditional marketing efforts.

Designed wholesale tour products, including contract negotiations with hotels, car rental companies, sightseeing operations and air carriers throughout the United States and Latin America. Duties included brochure design and copywriting, as well as coordination of educational seminars and familiarization tours for groups of travel and reservations agents.
