About Sherry Joslin

My work experience is unique and includes over a decade each as a NASA engineer, an executive nonprofit board member, and educator. I am currently a physics and apologetics teacher for Schole Academy and provide online instruction through Zoom and Canvas provided by Classical Academic Press. I began my career training astronauts and flight controllers at NASA which led to becoming an Electrical Power Systems flight controller for the Space Shuttle and then a Russian Interface Officer for the International Space Station.After over a decade of working in the space industry, I switched careers to invest in my children and became a teacher. I often tell people that equipping a child for our world today is more challenging than preparing a crew member for outer-space. I have had the amazing opportunity to live and work in six different countries which has taught me to respect and cultivate relationships with others who live in very different cultures. As an educator, I am skilled in communicating ideas through curriculum development, classroom instruction, and distance learning. As an executive board member, I have chaired meetings, written grants, bylaws, and policies in accordance with the mission and vision of two nonprofit organizations both nationally and internationally. As a NASA engineer, I contributed to the Mission Control team and monitored real time Space Shuttle and ISS operations. I created handbook briefs and detailed procedures for responding to malfunctions. I worked with international partners to implement the installation and activation of the International Space Station.As a recent post graduate student, I have written hundreds of pages, reviewed dozens of books, and spent many hours of research wrapping my head around philosophy, science, and history and how they relate to truth and knowledge. I enjoy teaching others how the relationship between faith and science is not one of conflict but of qualified agreement.
