I am forever grateful to the owners of this company-who gave me one of the biggest gifts I've ever received in my life: The opportunity to learn how to develop two businesses-from the ground up-(a division within a company & my own rep business). I learned how to understand, navigate & orchestrate the flow of the Department of Defense’s procurement system & requirements while helping build the company’s Government Sales Division from conception (starting with an empty desk & a Post-It note that had a single website written on it) to creating over 43M in sales in a 10 year timeframe.Other stuff:• Met & exceeded my “eyebrow raising” analysis that the company could capture 5% of the defense marketplace in 5 years, &10% in 10 years- then went on to meet & exceed those goals by over 35%, on average, each year. • Within five-years, this division was officially recognized by The Defense Supply Center Richmond, as one of their trusted, top suppliers of bearings & related products to the Department of Defense for consistently meeting top quality standards, delivery promises & supplier demands from inventory. • Generated over $43 million in sales• Discovered what was required & helped direct the implementation of internal infrastructures & systems to support government sales functions that met ongoing & upcoming regulations, approval processes, rigid packaging & quality requirements, upcoming changes & trends in any of the regulations or processes in order to continually monetize systems, resources, assets & inventory while creating fair trade & being a trusted source of high quality, value & dedicated service to our customers.

• Served as co-Vice Chair of the F34.07 DFARS Committee for Foreign Bearing Acquisition Regulations from '03-'05 (quarterly meetings with the tri-services to discuss Defense Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) specifically related to foreign manufacture concerns & acquisition regulations for U.S. Military ball and roller bearing products).

I am a solution seeker. And, because I am, in 2003 I went to work digging for a solution during a time where RFID mandates were being placed on the Department of Defense suppliers, & you could find hundreds of griping suppliers from coast to coast at any given defense supplier conference. The theme of frustration: "No one wanted to implement RFID at a cost of $25-55K for a system to put a “sticker” on our packages." Worse- the requirement was only on about 10% of shipments, meaning I only needed hundred or so tags a year- and our company had no other plans to implement any of the other bountiful benefits of RFID at the time, so it just didn't make sense. As I braced National Precision Bearing (NPB)for the worst secenario (make a 25K+ investment or decide to close our govt. sales doors), I went to work finding a supplier that could make a “sticker” that met the requirements I needed. After being met with countless "no's" I found Simply RFID and their answer- YES! At $3.85 a sticker, I spent around $1200 to resolve my immediate RFID need for an entire year!This was an affordable solution to the Department of Defense (DoD) supplier system's RFID packaging mandate in 2004 for NPB and as a result, I received an invitation from the Pentagon's Under Secretary of Defense Office to present this solution to 2,300 DoD suppliers at a major defense conference in 2004. This development lead to the extension of my manufacturer's rep business into RFID solutions for DoD suppliers while the need & demand were high. Worked closely with the President of Simply RFID to design and develop a cohesive, effective sales & marketing team to raise awareness across the Department of Defense’s supplier platform. Helped create a customer base ranging from small machine shops to large corporations like Northrup Grumman & generated $2M+ in automated/repeat customer sales for pre-printed Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags at an “affordable” price for DoD suppliers.

As a Property Manager, I was responsible for managing multi-million dollar residential property investments in areas ranging from extremely affluent neighborhoods to troubled communities requiring care and turnaround. Functions included: managing all aspects of business from rehabs to retention; handling multi-million dollar budgets; meeting and exceeding NOI/P&L Statements; hiring and training effective leasing, maintenance and assisting teams; overseeing resident retention and functions; assessing and repairing properties that experienced some level of adversity; and creating a positive NOI flow through a plan to rebuild or restructure as needed. Received several awards including Manager of the year, Highest NOI Return, & Highest Resident Retention/Lowest turnover, Best Residential Emergency Plan (that was used as an example by the Institude of Real Estate Management (IREM) in 1993 for reference by other property managers seeking to create a resident emergency guide and plan for their communities and their staff.

Originally hired as front-desk receptionist and a water aerobic instructor. Within months, I was guided into sales and community marketing projects and at the age of 16, became the youngest person on the sales team. Soon thereafter, I became the key person responsible for vendor & community relations and marketing functions for Burien location. Within a two years, I was responsible for sales and operations at four locations (Burien, Federal Way, Renton and North Seattle). in 1987- I moved to Long Island NY to attend school. While in Long Island, NY I worked as a sales and fitness consultant at Metrofit Athletic Club and resumed work for Living Well Lady in Seattle in 1988, before moving into Property Management in 1989.
