And, because I am, in 2003 I went to work digging for a solution during a time where RFID mandates were being placed on the Department of Defense suppliers, & you could find hundreds of griping suppliers from coast to coast at any given defense supplier conference. The theme of frustration: "No one wanted to implement RFID at a cost of $25-55K for a system to put a “sticker” on our packages." Worse- the requirement was only on about 10% of shipments, meaning I only needed hundred or so tags a year- and our company had no other plans to implement any of the other bountiful benefits of RFID at the time, so it just didn't make sense. As I braced National Precision Bearing (NPB)for the worst secenario (make a 25K+ investment or decide to close our govt. sales doors), I went to work finding a supplier that could make a “sticker” that met the requirements I needed. After being met with countless "no's" I found Simply RFID and their answer- YES! At $3.85 a sticker, I spent around $1200 to resolve my immediate RFID need for an entire year!This was an affordable solution to the Department of Defense (DoD) supplier system's RFID packaging mandate in 2004 for NPB and as a result, I received an invitation from the Pentagon's Under Secretary of Defense Office to present this solution to 2,300 DoD suppliers at a major defense conference in 2004. This development lead to the extension of my manufacturer's rep business into RFID solutions for DoD suppliers while the need & demand were high. Worked closely with the President of Simply RFID to design and develop a cohesive, effective sales & marketing team to raise awareness across the Department of Defense’s supplier platform. Helped create a customer base ranging from small machine shops to large corporations like Northrup Grumman & generated $2M+ in automated/repeat customer sales for pre-printed Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags at an “affordable” price for DoD suppliers.
