Mechanical Assistant
Current- Provides technical advice, training and guidance for 3 subordinate personnel in the installation, maintenance and repair of the Area’s plant, equipment and vehicles. Efficiency increased by 70%- Interprets technical drawings required for the installation, testing, repair and maintenance of plant, equipment and vehicles.- Utilises the Area’s Works Order, and Maintenance Management and other relevant systems and procedures as required. - Ensures the efficient use of labour and materials, to avoid wastage and minimize cost which involves assessing skills and strengths of the workforce- Reports to supervisor on the status of plant, equipment and vehicle maintenance as required. - Sources, maintains and controls the stock of spares in accordance with acceptable and established standards. - Maintains and controls the stock of diesel fuel in Area ranging from 13718 litres or more for approximately once a week- Assists in controlling costs and keeping records relating to plant, equipment and vehicle up-to-date and processes statistical reports as required. - Schedules maintenance for plant, equipment and vehicles.
