My Purpose Statement: To play a significant role in creating opportunities for people, communities, and organizations to grow by inspiring, motivating and developing others through my actions and example. I am currently the Snr. Director of Product, Innovation & Operations at Garlock. I lead teams responsible for Product Management, Product Development, Product Marketing, Production and Facilities Management. I began my career at Garlock as an R&D Engineer and led the development efforts for the THERMa-PUR® family of gaskets for extreme temperature applications. One of our earliest adopters of THERMa-PUR® was NASA for rocket booster applications. In 2011, I was awarded the Rochester Engineering Society's Young Engineer of the Year Award for outstanding professional achievements, community service, and activities that promote engineering excellence and leadership.In 2011 I began my journey in Product Management and as the Product Manager of expansion joints and led the commercialization of ABRA-LINE® expansion joints for highly abrasive applications and later as the Product Manager of GYLON® was the market strategist for the launch of GYLON EPIX®, the next generation in PTFE gasketing. In 2018 I accepted the responsibility of leading the Product Management function and reframed our focus to solving pervasive market problems with differentiated solutions. In 2020 I led the commercialization efforts for WavePro™, a new dielectric substrate for use in wireless communications, our company's boldest product launch outside of our core to date. In 2021 I also accepted the additional responsibility of leading our Innovation Team to accelerate our growth as a market-driven solutions provider.In 2024 I accepted the additional responsibility of Site Leadership for our Palmyra, NY facility which includes the Operations functions. I have also had the opportunity to use my technical and leadership skills on several non-profit projects worldwide. A few of these projects include the construction of a high ropes course in Jamaica, water well drilling projects in Guyana, and the construction of a library and health clinic in Ethiopia. I am also involved in the Palmyra Macedon High School FIRST robotics team. I have several patents, authored over 15 articles, earned a BS and ME in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, an MA from Roberts Wesleyan College, and an MBA from SUNY Oswego. I am also a graduate of Enpro Leadership Academy (ELA), Garlock Leadership Series (GLS), and McKinsey's Executive Leadership Program.
