About Sheryl Gray

I advocate for those who are unable to help themselves. In my 11th grade year of High School, became known as an ambassador for change in the Philadelphia School District System with the Youth United for Change Project pushing for reformation in public schools in Philadelphia. Upon graduation, I became the Youth Ambassador working with a team of 5 people and leaders from the community and House of Representatives; Dwight Evans to develop a plan to eliminate crime in recreational centers throughout Philadelphia. My long term commitment to advocacy began with the Lions Roar Newspaper at the Pennsylvania State University Abington Campus while asked to write about the terrorism Muslims wearing garbs faced in France. One year later, I founded the Student Parent Association where students with children were invited to share resources and exchange ideas and facts for the betterment of the next student. After two years of presidency, I moved to intern at the Maternity Care Coalition where my expertise in writing, editing, and research became essential in an office that heavily relied on public funding. The Maternity Care Coalition brought attention to the diverse tribulations parents face in low income areas. I am now looking forward to become a board member at the Hope Zone whose mission is to reach out to people of all ethnicity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ignite hope in people who may have substantial circumstances that hinder them in Spiritual, Emotional and Physical Wellness.
