I am a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team, supervising the various volunteer programs, and directing the activities of the volunteers under the supervision of the Hospice Director. I develop and implement orientation and training, recruitment and retention, as well as continuing education programs for hospice volunteers. I am responsible for assuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory governmental agencies, clear and timely communication with hospice team members, and collaboration across the organization to meet agency goals and objectives. Currently there are over 200 active volunteers at Community Home Health & Hospice, and I provide supervision, encouragement, and motivation to this incredible group of compassionate and dedicated individuals.

I provide administrative and clerical support to the Hospice Medical Director, Nursing personnel and Volunteer Coordinator. I am responsible for putting together admit packets once a patent is admtted to Hospices services, alerting DSHS when a patient's status changes, gathering information pertinent to weekly meetings, alerting the Medical Examiner when a patient dies, scanning and attaching medical records, maintaining an updated and accurate caseload spreadsheet for nursing staff, helping to coordinate yearly volunteer in-services. In the near future I will be trained on the scheduling module and phone system to provide back up assistance.I have been a respite volunteer since August, 2011 and I am proud to be a part of this compassionate and amazing organization.
