Sheshe is a senior litigator and trusted counsel with 25+ years’ experience unifying legal advisors and internal teams to provide impact and ensure cost-effective results. She analyzes high-risk issues quickly in national and international jurisdictions with experience specific to the energy industry. She manages all aspects of complex litigation to ensure efficient and successful advocacy from pre-litigation through conclusion, achieving strategic goals and compliance with legal requirements. She advises on corporate governance, regulatory compliance issues, and legal questions of stakeholders. In her current position as Senior Counsel for Marathon Oil, Sheshe provides expertise on risk management and litigation issues, while simultaneously serving as a mentor to paralegals and junior attorneys on assigned areas and cases. She is involved in hiring talent and assisting in their training and development while providing valuable direction to non-legal team members companywide to achieve business goals. Sheshe also manages a national climate change litigation docket with high potential exposure across multiple states in federal and state courts. She presents to the Executive Committee on current case status and risks, coordinating strategic response and defense with local and national external counsel.Notably, Sheshe managed economic and human risks incurred in a large fire in international territory while collaborating with internal and external legal and corporate teams in investigative processes. The company was able to restart operations in only two months and has initiated an investigative process that Sheshe developed for use company-wide due to strategic legal advice and analysis provided.
