.Net and SQL Server developer - Web applications for financial institution

Most recently, I’ve been learning OnBase System Administration (forms and indexing) and writing C# scripts to talk to the API. For 6 years prior, I was focused on creating text files with financial data using SQL Server, VB.NET and Oracle to send to clients. Development and working with business analysts were part of the job, but research was probably 60 - 70% of the position. I spend most of my time researching problems in the data and determining the root cause so it can be corrected.

I was a programmer analyst for SE2, developing applications to support the current hosting environment.As of August 2015, I was converted to a permanent position within SE2.

As the team's DBA, I was responsible for maintaining several MS SQL Servers including backups, manual data replication, server maintenance and overall health of the servers. I was also charged with creating and updating stored procedures, creating reports through SSRS and maintaining ERP Reports through Crystal Reports. On a day to day basis, I supported the ERP application Syteline, ensuring that the entire operation works smoothly from Operations to Finance. When time permits, I developed VB.NET client applications to support various departments including a touch screen kiosk for Shipping and an FTP application that transfers files to Canadian Customs.

Initially I was hired as a team lead of Software Development for Treasury and Investor Reporting/Accounting groups supporting internal applications written in ASP.NET, VB.NET and SQL Server. I was later promoted to team manager and finally project manager. My last position as project manager was on a large project spanning 2 teams (locally and offshore) as well as an ASP.NET developer on part of the project. I utilized Microsoft Project and CA Clarity to help support my role as PM.

Lead Programmer, Systems Architect, Project Manager for the CAPS Contract Sales application, written in ASP.NET and SQL Server.

Developed an ASP.NET application to handle medical insurance claims processing and an ASP.NET application to assist Accounts Receivable track their invoices. Both systems used MS SQL Server on the backend with Crystal Reports.

Helped the team design an object oriented based system separating business logic from UI. Wrote many complex stored procedures that were the back end for a Loan Origination system. Also converted the data from a powerbuilder application using SQL Stored Procedures into Microsoft SQL Server.

Created VB.NET applications/extensions for the FACETS Insurance system. Responsible for writing SQL Stored Procedures and generating reports for management as needed. Created several ASP.NET applications including an application to assist the claims processing department and converting a Microsoft Access application into an ASP.NET application. Also worked on a team to convert all the data in the Mid America Health databases into a format that Coventry could import, when MAH was sold.

Worked with a team of developers on an exciting startup venture creating a document storage repository, team room and forum application for the internet. The system was created in VB and classic ASP utilizing Microsoft SQL Server stored procedures.

Worked on a small team creating an internet based banking application for retail credit unions. We were building the application using classic ASP and C++ with SQL Stored Procedures.

Lead a team of Foxpro developers using Microsoft Visual Foxpro. I was the class designer responsible for the object oriented architecture as well as a system designer.

Designed HACCPS computer program for Cargill's Food Service companies as well as maintained the Beef and Pork Specification Books for Excel.
