• Screen patients for both Qualified Health Plan and public insurance options, including but not limited to Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Savings Programs, the DC Healthcare Alliance, and HIV/AIDS-specific public benefits• Explain the different options available through the Exchange or public insurance, the plan affordability and cost-sharing structure, and the consumer rights available under these options• Assist eligible clients in completing relevant applications, securing necessary supporting documentation, and filing the applications with the appropriate agencies• Track applications and submissions and advocate for consumers with government offices as necessary• Identify matters that should be referred to staff attorneys or other health center specialists for further action
