I spent a good portion of my earlier career working internationally for companies that I represented. A number were Fortune 500 companies. I have personally owned manufacturing companies with employees numbering from 50 to over 400 employees. These were outside the United States. Mostly in Mexico, for a period of more than 12 years. I have SUCCESSFULLY set up "off shore" manufacturing facilities and / or production lines for the following clients, (to name a few): MOTOROLA, SIEMENS, LEVOLOR, 3M, ZENITH CORPORATION, BURR BROWN, MAGNETIC METALS, MOREWOOD & YAGER, (furniture manufacturers), PROMOTION FULFILLMENT CORPORATION, as well as several dozen others.Spent a number of months in the years 1989 - 1991 in the Soviet Union and it's Republics before and after the breakup scouting opportunities for my Fortune 500 clients to set up manufacturing operations there. This was BEFORE China came on line as a supply of cheap labor. Wages in the USSR were equivalent to ten U.S. dollars per month. Problem was that the Russians did not know how to.... nor were inclined to work!
