About Shilpa Sonal

I am an award-winning social sector leader who has, over the past 16 years, set up and scaled various not-for-profit organizations to empower women and children through education and healthcare. I have set up and managed under the Sanshil Foundation, Swayam (skill development center for unemployed youth and village women); Bagiya and Compassion (remedial, non-formal school for 1000+ children from less privilege) across four centers which have touched more than 1000+ families over the years. My role as chairperson of Sanshil Foundation includes fundraising, management, day-to-day operations, auditing and reporting to all key stakeholders. Responsible for roadmap for the project, setting goals and objectives, determining the resources requirement, ensuring that sufficient funds are made available, as well as managing the budget during the implementation of the project to ensure that resources are used efficiently. I ensure that all aspects of the project run smoothly, and the goals and objectives are being met by reviewing progress reports and monitoring budgets. These children and families are also provided with counselling and training on communication and life skills to help them integrate into mainstream programs.Since its inception, Bagiya has helped 10000+ students from less privileged backgrounds to graduate high school and enabled them to seek employment by mentoring them to skill development or higher education programs. Swayam has helped 500+ women from rural backgrounds gain financial independence. Sanshil Foundation is sponsored under CSR partnerships with Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of America, Capgemini, Make My Trip India Pvt Ltd, HMD Global (NOKIA), Comviva Technologies ( A Tech Mahindra Company), IGT Solutions, and many more.
