I am a human rights and social justice activist and received my doctorate in Educational Leadership. My doctoral study focused on ‘Developing Moral Education to Combat Human Trafficking’. Currently, I serve as the Executive Director of Gateway Alliance against Human Trafficking (GAHT), a non-profit committed to educating communities and inspiring positive systemic change to end human trafficking. Additionally, I am an adjunct faculty member at the University of Missouri in St. Louis (UMSL) and teach for the Sociology Department and the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice. I also studied Child Protection from violence, exploitation, and neglect at Harvard FXB Center for Health and Human Rights.Besides my academic training, I have experience working in several agencies affiliated with the Humanities and Humanitarian efforts including the American Red Cross of the Greater St. Louis Area where our team received the International Services Award for their outstanding International Humanitarian Law (IHL) project known as Raid Cross. I am also a Peer Reviewer to the Office of Justice Program (OJP) Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding human trafficking. I have served as cabinet, board, and member of numerous organizations and I am a member of the U.S. Attorney’s Human Trafficking and Hate Crime Task Forces of Eastern District of Missouri. Furthermore, I have been an author and contributor to several publications. In partnership with American Bar Association (ABA) and International Women Judges Association, one of my recent work was published in a book called, “Women's Voices” that celebrates a century of progress for women’s voting rights and offers thought-leadership on challenges and opportunities for fully realizing gender equality and women’s empowerment, particularly their full and meaningful inclusion in political life and leadership. In an Order, the Supreme Court of Missouri has appointed me as a member of the State of MO's Combating Human Trafficking and Domestics Violence Commission.
