I've always been an avid exotic car enthusiast and have spent most of my career in the customer service and sales professions. My favorite aspect from all of all of my experience has been the relationships I have built with my customers. The trust one can build with satisfied customers is very rewarding for me. Even when I was with Nordstrom selling Salon Shoes, I appreciated both the quality and beauty of the product I was selling as well as the personal attention I could give to each individual. I believe that the greatest satisfaction at this level is making a customer for life. This is what I think I would miss the most if I ever had to choose a different career path. My current employment is like a dream. I love to be around exotic cars and building relationships one customer at a time.

Do you think you might be interested in a sales position here at Danbury Porsche? Can you come interview tonight?" I pinched myself. Rewind to when i was a boy and teenager. I remember walking into a Porsche showroom and sitting in a 928. I still remember it today. The smell of the leather, the way the steering wheel felt in my hands, the look of the dials and controls - everything. It transported me. I was in love. I had the 911 slantnose poster on my wall. I would sketch a 911 turbo on just about any blank sheet of paper I could find. That's just the way Porsche is to all of us who have been smitten with the passion that is Porsche. To me, Porsche is just a higher level of performance and quality. It is to Germany what Ferrari is to Italy - an iconic sports car with the highest pedigree. I said yes and here i am! I couldn't be more thrilled!!

Of course starting brand new comes with many challenges which has only added to my experience and education.

I really wasn't looking at the time but the ad did say "no previous car sales required". I was intrigued and applied. I thought to myself, "Wow! How awesome it would be to work here with all these gorgeous works of art and brands that I have admired since childhood!" I actually had little hope of getting such a job. But after several interviews, I was exactly what they were looking for. Like Nordstrom, Miller Motorcars is like a family run business with a great reputation and extremely high standards and values. I fit right in. There was a lot that I needed to learn - starting from scratch was almost overwhelming. Learning things quickly and accurately was the real key to success for me. Being passionate about the cars was no problem at all. Knowing the product intimately, the history, the design elements and aspects, as well as the specifications is my forte you could say and I love sharing my knowledge with customers and fellow sales associates.

My colleague and I were consistently among the top 5 highest paid employees at Nordstrom during my time in this position. It was perfect being able to help my loyal personal customers while learning how to run a department and a business. Going above and beyond to care for customer needs is what I do and it has solidified relationships that I continue to enjoy even now at Miller Motorcars / Maserati of Westport!
