Teaching English in a specialist English language school to young learners, teenagers and adults of all levels and abilities. I taught Business English aimed at managers working for Pertamina Oil Company, most of which were one on one. I have also done intensive conversation classes to meet students’ particular needs in preparing for further education.

Worked in Budapest, Hungary in two primary schools teaching English on an exchange programme with Wolverhampton Council.

Translated documents for various clients and agencies. In addition to proofreading and editing documents that had already been translated.

Translating local Arabic news articles and TV news reports, propaganda channels into English, summarizing it into an intelligence report. This report would then be distributed among the Coalition Forces within Baghdad.

I worked as an interpreter alongside the British Army in very hostile and stressful conditions. I was assigned to the general initially but my role evolved over time. I had many roles which included: - Proof read and translated sensitive documents, newspaper articles, leaflets, power-point presentations (Arabic into English and visa versa)- Created and updated a database of standardised translated military terms- Conducted consecutive interpreting during meetings, seminars and press releases with local Iraqi army officers, politicians and tribal leaders - Raised cultural awareness among the military personal and bridged gaps- Towards my final months I worked alongside the Human Intelligence team.

Identified and sorted correspondence from members of the public addressed to the Prime Minister and the Home Secretary. Drafted appropriate responses in accordance with the relevant policies.
