Shinji Ueda is an executive officer at Sakura Internet Inc. Since June 2018, he has been in charge of business development for IoT/AI/satellite technology, including M&A activities in the president's office at Sakura.Prior to this position, he was the manager of the ICT business section of the aerospace and IT business division of Sojitz Corporation. Ueda was responsible for the entire IT business unit of Sojitz, including the management of Sojitz's subsidiaries, Nissho Electronics Corporation, Sakura Internet, Sojitz Systems, etc. Prior to that, Mr. Ueda established the Sojitz Silicon Valley office in California, USA, as a senior manager of Sojitz Corporation of America. In Silicon Valley, he also served as Director of Nissho Electronics USA, where he was responsible for the investment and business development of several start-ups and the management of these portfolios in the areas of cloud computing, big data, SDN and cyber security.Mr. Ueda joined Nissho Iwai Corporation (formerly Sojitz Corporation) in 1996 and previously served on the Board of Directors of a media company in Houston, Texas, on the Board of Directors of NTT DATA 3C, and as Executive Officer of an IT consulting company formed between Sojitz and NTT Resonant Corp. In each position, he was involved in business development in the areas of media and content business, supply chain management, BPO business, biometrics and other ICT-related businesses, etc. Ueda received his bachelor's degree in economics from Keio University in 1996.
