I am a passionate and forever-curious learner, with a background in psychology, early childhood development, and occupational therapy, I have a long history in working with various people and systems and can identify and plan for the change management needed to drive evolution and efficiency. For the past several years that I have been an Occupational Therapist, my main focus was following evidence-based practice and best practice for optimal functional outcomes and reduce the costs by preventing rehospitalizations for common causes such as falls, infection, exacerbation of diseases, and overall loss of independence in the community. I am very versitle, moving easily from one-on-one intervention to phone case conferences, and educating varying levels of understanding of the health care process in both layman's terms and clinical medical jargon. I lead by using skills developed through experience, following protocol for best practice, and using therapeutic use of self for providing needed empathy and quality of care. I enjoy the dynamic relationships I have developed in my position as an OT; when people value every perspective involved in each case, success is ensured and more successful outcomes are possible.
