Under direct supervision of a Professional Engineer (P.E.); direct, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate transmission and substation improvement engineering projects that ensure assignments and projects are completed safely and efficiently. Planed, scheduled, conducted and/or coordinated detailed phases of assigned project work. Make design recommendations, adaptations and modifications for utility substations, plans, elevations, and details and other drawings associated. Performed calculations using engineering formulas. Provided technical project management for phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections. Collaborate with the project team and other stakeholders to finalize schematics generating design drawings and documents, determining the appropriate size and type of cables and conduits for each substation, facilitating tasks using engineering application software, and coordinating efforts with team members. Design and issue the physical engineering and design package associated with substation reconfiguration and upgrade. Support on documents specifications for Substation Equipment; review Bids (technically) for future acquisitions. Participated in the implementation and review of existing NERC standards and updated to latest IEEE stand. Conduct Post Field Construction Audits & review results with operating departments. Ensure safe practices and appropriate PPE is used by all attendees during substation visits and meetings scheduled by Substation Engineering & Design personnel. Provide 80% Division availability for supplemental survey and storm restoration services (Sandy storm 2012) support.

Substation Engineer

Safety Inspector, Assist Safety director with inspections, visiting industrial premises and various work sites such as World Trade Center, Madison Square Garden, Javits Center among others to inspect processes and procedures and ensure good health and safety practices. Observes crews at work and reports laxity in safety precautions, such as failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, and other safety devices. Instruct workers in use of safety equipment and safe work methods. Ensure workers are provided with suitable protective equipment. Investigate accidents and complaints determining if there has been a breach of health and safety law. Write reports on results of inspections and investigations and complete detailed paperwork including but not limited to JSA, PTP and toolbox talks. Attend safety meetings at various sites with SSM and contractors to discuss problems and safety observations.

Performed periodically field inspections of different projects and schools in order to ensure that the required SCA and OSHA safety standards were being implemented. Responsible for all crane operations at SCA; ensuring that they follow OSHA and DOB Cranes and Derricks standards, assigned field inspectors, and reviewed their reports, performed field inspections for cranes when necessary. Accepted and reviewed Site Safety Plans ensuring that they are in accordance to NYC SCA standards and specifications included but not limited to the original Site Safety Managers seal, and the scope of work to be performed by the contractor. Attend general meetings with SSM and contractors to discus and implement OSHA standards and regulations. Analyzed and interpreted safety inspections and maintained a monthly log for Emergency Side Walk Bridges to ensure that they are structurally sound and that they are in accordance with DOB and OSHA standards. Scheduled and follow up PE inspection for scaffolds, excavations, sidewalk bridges, and anchor points, to ensure the protection and safety of the public. • Contributed to the review, update, and editing of crane standards for the new SCA Safety Manual.
