As the founder of BioInformatiCo, I bring together a profound passion for medical science and a rich background in health actuarial analytics to create innovative solutions within the research and life sciences industry. With more than 18 years of experience in the field, including serving as the Chief Health Analytics Actuary at Discovery Health, my career has been marked by a commitment to excellence in healthcare data analysis. My work has spanned a broad range of critical areas including quantifying variations in healthcare costs and outcomes, supporting quality improvement initiatives and provider contract negotiations, and conducting return-on-investment evaluations for healthcare projects. I have also been involved in developing alternative reimbursement contracts, measuring healthcare quality, performing epidemiological analysis, designing clinical classification algorithms, analysing fraud, and applying predictive modelling and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems in healthcare. Providing globally significant research alongside South Africa’s leading scientists during the COVID-19 pandemic has been among the highlights of my professional journey.At BioinformatiCo, my ambition is to significantly advance data management and analytics services in Sub-Saharan Africa by utilising my extensive expertise to make a meaningful difference in the region.Outside of my professional life, I find solace and inspiration in philosophy and mindfulness, practices that I credit for both my professional and personal achievements.
