Where do I start? The best way to describe myself is a determined, highly focused, creative, supportive leader. Using experiences from my business and personal life I aim to motivate, inspire and empower the people around me to achieve their own targets, goals and ambitions. Being competitive is something that has stuck with me throughout my life - it has always pushed me to go further. This really became obvious when I raced cars in my early twenties, even winning top lady driver in the UK, after 2 years racing!As fantastic a personal achievement as this was, I wasn't content with stopping there. I wanted to be the best in my category, the best at what I did, and it was a tough challenge in my Ford Fiesta and one design racing.Before hanging up my racing boots and helmet, I managed to achieve top positions a few times, to the point where only the instructors were beating me. Following this, and after a few guest-driver requests from Porsche and Formula Ford, I had to make a decision - career or cars. And for me, career was the more promising route.I loved every second of my time racing , and that competitive edge has been with me since school - winning top prize in IT, 2 years in a row. Being the best in whatever I do is a daily goal. I actively encourage those around me to believe that they will be No.1 in whatever they do. I enjoy the journey they go on to get there - good and bad - staying in pole position is another challenge!In my work life I am dedicated to delivering solutions that exceed customer expectations. This is possible through having a team of mixed individuals and giving them clear goals and objectives. Numbers feature in everything I do, from scoring a 10 out of 10 in a tender, to reaching 1st place in customer satisfaction at the end of the week. To reaching that magic £10m turnover figure that I never thought I would see, to smashing it in 2020/21 achieving £11.2m - an increase of £3m from the year before, all from organic growth.Managing Director at SPS is very rewarding - and I have so much more to achieve - still young and full of energy- I'm revved up to go. We have battled with competitors, extreme weather with 2 lots of "Best from the East" in 2018 and 2021 with nearly 18000 call in 4 days, COVID, which tested everyone and still is, but we will make it through, with sensible people management and forward planning even though its difficult to plan too far ahead at the moment. So what about the future.. what will it look like? I am excited to see.. join me on that journey!
