Primarily responsible for the oversight and accuracy of all the community foundation grant transaction processing, managing and providing leadership for the grants management team, providing cross-departmental training on regulations, policies and procedures and ensuring timely, accurate and compliant programmatic and donor advised grant administration. Internal business owner of the proprietary grants management system and related processes, including the online portal for grantee applications. Dedicated to engaging internal and external stakeholders in efficient and effective philanthropy.

Primary responsible for the oversight and accuracy of all the community foundation grant transaction processing, managing and providing leadership for the grants administration unit, providing cross-departmental training on regulations and policies and ensuring timely, accurate and compliance grant administration. Work to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations relating to grants and funds with the capacity to communicate a deep understanding of technical issues related to grantmaking, regulation and compliance with the public, donors and colleagues in a way that encourages participation and understanding as well as efficiency.

Managing a team of seven, lead the grants administration unit, housed in the grants, gifts and compliance department of the community foundation which processes all grants from the community foundation (donor advised, endowment and competitive, fiscal sponsorship, scholarships, etc). We process close to 12,000 grants per year, including over 100 international grants. Primarily responsible for reviewing and approving grants, ensuring compliance with internal grant administration policies, IRS rules and regulations and improving our workflow and processing to be in line with best practices in the field.

Manage a portfolio of approximately 200 donor advised funds, bringing donors closer to their philanthropic goals both for optimal tax advantage and community impact by creating giving plans, facilitating complex grant agreements and enforcing compliance with IRS rules and regulations and other applicable lawConceptualize and implement a new strategy to evaluate donor engagement and satisfaction based on major milestones in donor-foundation-grantee relationshipsBuild a comprehensive strategy to bringing donors and community organizations together by co-leading a cross-department workgroup to present a plan to foundation leadership and boardContribute to the development and adoption of knowledge management principles and technology systems, both internally and externally focused, including web 2.0 implementation, database construction and management and enterprise system componentsOversee the Community Connection Funding Opportunities Program as part of the larger strategy of bringing donors and nonprofits togetherComplete and disseminate a system and procedure handbook for the Donor Engagement and Giving Division of the community foundationTrain staff on two database modules, a password-protected website, donor engagement best practices and customer service

Supported Political Opportunity Program (POP) staff of the west coast region to perform training for pro-choice women Democrats who would like to run for a public office. As an intern, I also wrote my thesis on POP as a program evaluation. I conducted interviews with past participants, created a logic model, addressed a problem and made recommendations to increase program effectiveness and implementation.
