About Shirley Kimmayong

I am an aspiring changemaker. I believe that whose definition of development is something to be taken into consideration when implementing programs/projects in the communities. I have been working as a communications professional with more than 10 years of experience. I managed disaster communications in Asia Pacific region, worked with communications persons from different countries in multi-cultural settings. I also worked with indigenous peoples organizations in Asia and in the global context particularly when it comes to engaging with the United Nations when it comes to indigenous peoples and the Sustainable Development Goals. My work as a communicator covers writing stories, taking photos and videos, social media and website management. I also did coaching and provided trainings among others. Aside from this, I started an organization working with indigenous peoples focused on education, empowerment, environment and indigenization.
