I started working as a Speech Recognition Expert in Professional Speech Processing team. My responsibility was to apply Artificial Intelligence (speech technology including speech recognition and synthesis) into Siemens products and solutions. My responsibility was to apply Artificial Intelligence (speech technology including speech recognition and synthesis) into Siemens products and solutions. I worked in various collaborative projects in this area including: * R&D on Computer Aided Speech Audiometry System and Tone Enhancement Algorithm for hearing aids * R&D on Car Infotainment System with Speech Interaction* Chinese Speech Recognition Engine Localisation and Optimisation I filed six invention patents and published one international conference paper in speech technology field. The algorithm I proposed in the above hearing aid project was to improve speech intelligibility of existing hearing aids in Chinese market. It was accepted by Siemens Audiology Technology (a global Business Unit of Siemens which had hearing aid products) and filed as an international invention patent. I am really proud of it. After Siemens sold its speech technology team globally, I was transferred to User Experience Design team working first as a software prototype developer and later a usability engineer and a user experience design project manager in various collaborative projects including* Virtual Reality (VR) Experience for Siemens Trainguard MT System * User Research on Power Plant Control Room System * V20 (a model of Siemens industry drive) Online Engineering Tool * R&D on Mobile Industry Drive Configuration ToolI filed two international invention patents in the user experience design field and the engineering tool (still running in the market) resulting from “V20 Online Engineering Tool” project won the “Engineers’ choice 2018” award. I am happy to have worked in a user-oriented and innovative institution with extensive exposure to different innovation methodologies especially Design Thinking, which empowers me in different aspects.
