I worked on two different projects, developing a new tool for the regions and benchmark digital solutions based on operations, maintenance, and passenger information systems.New tool development:● I improved efficiency by consolidating information on the hardware compatibility for different digital solutions. Firstly, I conducted interviews with the R&D and Bid teams at HQ to gather information. ● Next, I consolidated the information and built a tool which will be used by the regions to understand the compatibility. Finally, I documented the information for education purposes so the tool can be enhanced further.Benchmark of digital solutions:● Initially, I conducted a benchmark on the competitor’s digital solutions on three categories such as maintenance, operations, and passenger information systems.● The recent contracts, business model, partners and platforms were analyzed to find out new sources for collaboration.

Responsible for purchasing electrical, electronic, and packing components for Refrigerator, Washing machine, Air conditioner and Television. I worked with different teams (Development, Quality and HQ teams) in a matrix environment and managed purchasing activities (capacity planning, material planning and cost) across all project phases (design to delivery). The annualized spend was 25M$.Buyer activities:● Set up the supplier selection process based on QCDT criteria, creating, and releasing RFQ package, and managing the contract talks with vendors. Organized periodic QCDT performance evaluation and made sure the goal is met.● Cost reductions were negotiated based on changes in the exchange rates for commodities and dollars. achieved a 3% decrease in the cost of the materials and other VE/VA activity, which led to 200K$ annual savings.Commodity Strategy:● Developed a plan to transition from individual supplier purchases to a consortium buying strategy. Samsung provided demand visibility and negotiated competitive price, resulting in various advantages such as supplier-managed materials, competitive pricing for raw materials, and the attainment of ESG goals.● Organized workshop for the existing and new suppliers to show the components for diversification. I reduced the inventory carrying cost by 5%, purchasing cost by 15% due to reduced MOQ and lead time.Supplier management:● Suppliers were reviewed quarterly and developed mitigation plans for the poor performers. Encouraged cost and process improvement ideas from suppliers and provided recognition to the best ideas.Documentation and reporting:● Suppliers Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation outlining compliance findings. Communicated compliance information to various internal stakeholders and tracked progress and accountability.● Conducted training, created tailored reports, and contributed to process improvement efforts. Consolidate feedback from Procurement to product owners and IT.
