I am the founder and Managing Director of Royal Mountain Group and a board member of Impact Travel Alliance. Royal Mountain Group is a group of tourism entities based in Nepal. It has been more than 3 decades since I have been actively working in the Nepalese tourism industry where I started my company back in 2005. We currently have 6 different organizations within our group: Royal Mountain Travel, Community Homestay Network, Inside Himalayas, Avata Wellness Center, Traditional Comfort, and Traditional Stay Hotels, and Bricks Cafe.Among various of our initiations, Community Homestay Network, a community tourism project is among one of the most successful ones working towards women empowerment, rural tourism development, and promotion. We established the Community Homestay Network in 2017 with a mission to build a tourism value chain that helps create job opportunities and tourism experiences in the rural communities of Nepal. We were recently recognized by UNWTO for SDG 8 good job and economic growth, we were also awarded the PATA gold award in 2020 in community-based tourism and the IIPt award in 2019 for cultural diversity. We are also in partnership with more than 50 partners nationally and internationally and we’re able to channel more than 7000 travelers till 2019.We recently launched the AVATA wellness center with an objective to grow wellness tourism and expand the avenues of wellness tourism in Nepal. Envisioned with an objective to provide opportunities for locals and travelers to practice the ancient art of yoga, AVATA wellness also provides the opportunity for healthy nutritional habits at its Veg and Vegan restaurant Nourish and different therapeutic sessions at its spa. Along with our boutique hotels and cafe designed to reflect local architecture.Firmly committed to sustainable and responsible tourism, in the last few years, Royal Mountain Group has focused on ways to help protect the Nepali culture in local communities, empower women in rural Nepal, Protect the planet, and aid in the sustainable redistribution of tourism benefits all over Nepal.
