In my freshman year at NTU, I was chosen to represent the university in Formula Student UK for the first time. I became a part of a 15-member team, carefully selected from an initial group of 24 students spanning second to fourth years.With senior team members as mentors, I had designed various parts of the car using SolidWorks which were: Dashboard with integrated screen, Waterproof TSMPs Housing compliant to rules, Pre-Charge mount for the accumulator. Helped the team to make the car rule compliant as much as possible at the final stages of preparation before the competition at UK.Beyond design, I took on the task of sourcing a range of components. My responsibilities encompassed securing braking lines, acquiring crucial safety gear like the SA2020 Helmet, and obtaining a vital UL-94 V0 rated Firewall. This firewall served as a crucial safeguard, providing protection to the driver from potential risks related to the accumulator.Our first car had achieved 29th place in the design category.

I am involved in a research project focused on the development of topology-optimized heating plates usingadditive manufacturing techniques. My role entails designing a heater that ensures consistent temperaturedistribution across its surface. This objective is accomplished through the simulation of convection designsusing the Ansys Fluent software.

Handled day-to-day library reception duties and managed closing tasks for smooth operations. Utilized 3D modelling and scanning techniques like Photogrammetry and LiDAR to digitally preserve key areas of the NIE library.

During my BPCL internship, I underwent comprehensive plant training in Maintenance, gaining insights into heat exchangers (including shell and tube designs), compressors, turbines, pumps, and storage tanks used in oil refineries.Throughout, I engaged with both static and rotary machines, learning about various pump types like centrifugal, positive displacement, and reciprocating pumps—learning their function, upkeep, and troubleshooting in refinery settings.The internship extensively covered shell and tube heat exchangers, diving into design, potential issues, and repair techniques, highlighting constant monitoring's significance.I delved into compressor intricacies, understanding reciprocating, centrifugal, and rotary screw compressors—grasping their operation, maintenance, and performance assessment.Guided by experts, I honed hands-on skills in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for rotary equipment—strengthening my ability to tackle mechanical challenges effectively.This BPCL stint provided deep comprehension of heat exchangers, compressors, and turbines in oil refineries, imparting not just practical skills but also profound insights into rotary machinery—firmly preparing me for a successful mechanical engineering career.
