Designed, launched and owned a down-market product offering to acquire seed stage startups as customers. Defined and executed a scalable go-to-market strategy including positioning, packaging and partnerships; conducted customer interviews and analyzed market trends to improve strategy. Spent nearly 3 years on the evolving Corporate Development team focusing on M&A and investment efforts for the organization. Helped spearhead PayPal's acquisition of Braintree (incl. Venmo), a transaction which redefined the company and one of the most successful Silicon Valley acquisitions in recent years. A majority of my experience at PayPal was as part of a two-person Corporate Development division (comprised of myself and the Head of Global Corp Dev), which allowed me significant exposure and opportunity to impact the org. During my time at PayPal, my greatest strengths were managing, influencing and activating large teams and senior leaders around strategic initiatives. I developed strategy, evaluated and executed investment and acquisition opportunities in the financial technology and adjacent industries (e.g. Order Ahead, SMB Services), both domestically and in key international markets. I worked directly with the Head of Corp Dev and product teams to formulate strategies for new payments initiatives and develop businesses cases to determine if M&A was the best option for the relevant product teams.
