Based upon upcycling this project which includes handcrafted fabrics are hand weaved and are natural dyed by skilled artisans. Usually, with some minor making defects, many fabrics are categorised as non-useable and are hence are dumped aside at some corner. Here, through this project, Malkha gave me an opportunity to make the most out of such fabrics available in various beautiful naturally dyed colours. Creating simple designs for home linens with a direct approach that could easily be co-ordinated with production team was an important aspect for this upcycling project at Malkha. For any non-profit organization, appropriate management of expense on overall designing and production is always to be taken care of. Thus, the first collection is all about the designs created with straight approach towards shapes and forms which are handy in making and are easily producible on a large scale. Simplicity and minimum complexity of design gives the collection a sophisticated touch. This project also includes a second collection based out of creativity. It displays a varied range of fabric explorations and manipulations tried and tested making space for new innovations to come in. Though being on a bit of an expensive side, this collection depicts a pure aesthetic feeling ultimately leading to a space makeover. From simple patchwork to intricate handwork, this entire project displays the many faces of how design and textile in correlation can make creative wonders happen.Project Brief : Developing a suite of home linens including but not limited to : Tableware - tablecloths, runners and dinner napkins. Bed linens - bed sheets, pillow covers, bedspreads, quilts, accent pillow cases. Cushions - Collections and Unique pieces. 1. The suites designed would upcycle existing Malkha overstock fabrics. Overstock is a result of overproduction as well as minor fabric and colour defects.

Assisted the Printing Department in the Industry. Created the designs and assisted the team with design completion on Adobe Photoshop. Acquired knowledge about the work flow of the industry, especially the Printing Department. Gained knowledge about the heavy printing machines.

Assisted the Textile Designer with Yoke Design Samples based on Traditional Kutch Motifs. Assisted the Artisans in the Accessory Department . Came out with the collection of Handcrafted Anklets designed using Patwa Thread work and Waste Fabrics.
