Hi, I'm Shiva, I was born and brought up in North East India. I completed my post-graduation in Mass Communication from Manipal University (Karnataka). My education and work experiences have helped me quickly adapt to different work cultures; and appreciate and learn from opportunities - big and small.I started my career in television with an internship at NDTV Imagine Showbiz and was absorbed in the fledgling company soon after I graduated in 2008.In 2009, I was hired as an assistant producer in the features and programming department at Times Now. I worked on flagship shows like The Way We Live, My Story, Total Recall, Total Recall Greatest Hits, The Foodie with Kunal Vijayakar and Star, which enjoyed multiple reruns.I also co-produced Times Now’s first Branded Content partnership, HDFC Life’s Spell Bee, which was hosted by Derek O'Brien. I gradually transitioned into conceptualising and producing shows for brands like Maruti India, Pernod Ricard, BASF India, Novartis and many more. I produced content for international clients like Taiwan Excellence and JNTO (Japan Tourism). By the time I left Times Network, I was leading content marketing (Non-BFSI) for the west region and managing a team of 4 producers.After a short stint at BTVI, I joined my current employer to spearhead perhaps the most challenging project of my career - India Fact Quiz, a digital-first, gamified quiz aimed at increasing awareness and appreciation for data and facts. The initiative is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, India and powered by Indiaspend. The larger objective was to effect behavioural change among 17-25-year-olds and improve the quality of public discourse. During the course of this project, I’ve picked up various skills like digital marketing, social media strategy and email marketing among others. I'm currently helping build The Core - a business news and insights platform with a focus on growth, subscriptions and exploring avenues for revenue.With 14+ years of experience and proven knowledge of broadcast media, content marketing, and executing special online and offline events, I’m passionate about technology (phones, laptops, cameras), photography, design, documentaries & movies/web series.
