Synthesis of single crystalline SrTiO3 membranes with bulk-like structural, electrical, and optical properties using binary oxide sacrificial layer grown by Molecular Beam Epitaxy2. Transforming amorphous solution-processed sacrificial layer of SrCa2Al2O6 into single crystalline template for epitaxial growth of SrTiO3Lab responsibilities: • Manager of Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) systems. Duties include maintenance and upgrade of system, and training new graduate students to learn MBE thin film growth • Lab-safety officer (LSO). Duties include ensuring safety from mechanical and physical hazards and maintaining a safe work environment in the lab• Won the safe lab award by the Joint Safety Committee of UMN for Fall 2021, Spring 2022, Fall 2022, Spring 2023, and Fall 2023• Worked as the lab water cooling line in-charge for all heat exchangers and pumps in the labKey research accomplishments: • Pioneered a simple approach to oxide membrane synthesis with bulk-like electronic properties. • Grew La-doped SrTiO3 films to achieve a record high mobility of 53,500 cm2V-1s-1• Designed and installed N2O gas inlet system• Installed liquid and solid metal-organic precursors for use in MBE system
