Reporting to the General Manager, the Head of HR and Safety is responsible for managing all aspects of the end-to-end HR function across the organization. This includes Talent Acquisition, Employment Relations, Talent Management, Workplace health and safety, and Strategic HRM.

The HR & Safety Manager is a direct report to the Managing Directors. The position is responsible for the delivery of operational as well as strategic functions within HR, Payroll and Organisational Health & Safety for all the business under the Pacific Group of Companies including Pacific Meat Sales and Pacific Food Machinery.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:• Managing change – Implementation of HRIS, upgradation of payroll system, and integration of Workforce Management System, Leave Management System, Learning Management System, HRIS and the Payroll system;• Supported the business during a COVID-19 outbreak. Represented the company in front of the Department of Health and Human Services, Work Safe and other government agencies;• Successfully resolved some major industrial relations matters by representing the business in front of the Fair Works Ombudsman;• Successful implementation of a structured workforce plan that supports the business meet their people and business objectives;• Assist and coach team members and line managers on generalist HR and ER related matters; interpretation of policies, modern awards and employment legislative matters; performance and disciplinary matters; WorkCover and return to work cases as required.

The National Human Resources & Safety Manager is a direct report to the General Manager. The position is responsible for the delivery of HR strategy for the business nationally across all its sites in Victoria, NSW, and QLD. The position leads a small team of 3 which are responsible in providing direct advice to line leaders.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: Supported the business during a COVID-19 outbreak. Represented the company in front of the Department of Health and Human Services, Work Safe and other government agencies. And ensure we were cleared to resume operation within a period of 2 weeks; Implementation of a new HRIS (Zoho People) and Learning Management System (SafetyHub) across the business; Significant improvements in performance review and remunerations processes; Successful delivery of business-critical change initiatives; Successful resolution of some major industrial relations matters; Proactively improving the relationships with key unions; Redesigned recruitment practices, interview guides, onboarding process and introduced a new pre-employment medical checks; Setting up of exit interview questionnaire and process to ensure feedback was captured and acted on; Successful management of existing Workers Compensation claims and managing the return-to work of injured employees for quick and effective return to pre-injury duties; Review of skilled workers’ (457/482) migration program in line with legislative changes; Review of migration consultant provider, resulting in significant cost savings and improved business relationships; Assist and coach team members and line managers on generalist HR and ER related matters; interpretation of policies, modern awards and employment legislative matters; performance and disciplinary matters; WorkCover and return to work cases as required.

Shiva worked onsite at Hilton Foods Australia first through Manpower and then transferred over at the clients’ explicit request to Chandler Macleod with the transfer of the service delivery contract to Chandler Macleod.The role was responsible for 2 direct reports and other support teams and took care of over 385 casuals onsite, which made it the single largest client for Chandler Macleod across the country. The role was responsible for various human resource and client support functions that support the internal stakeholders to improve overall business performance and promote sustainable growth.
