Shivi Shankaran is a seasoned technology, product, and supply chain veteran with extensive experience in the e-commerce space. He is deeply familiar with every aspect of product management, systems architecture and software development, business development, supply chain elements of fulfillment, industrial engineering, transportation and customer service. He has strategically scaled organizations through exponential growth using technology advancements, process re-engineering, and people development to create a best-in-class customer experience. As Chief Operating Officer for Saks OFF 5TH, Shivi oversees the e-commerce business, Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Data & Analytics, Enterprise IT and Information Security, and Supply Chain & Logistics. Shivi is committed to delivering a seamless, omni-channel shopping experience. Through his customer-obsessed mindset, Shivi is charting the course for Saks OFF 5TH’s future as the company reimagines off-price retail scaled by technology and innovation.Prior to this, Shivi spent nearly 15 years at Amazon, during a period of incredible growth, in multiple General Manager roles. He has scaled teams and businesses, while building products and technology that delight customers. Shivi has managed global operations with over 8,500 employees in 20 countries. He has deep experience in building products, developing customer facing engineering solutions, and leading global teams. Shivi was the single threaded leader who managed all of Amazon’s Reverse Logistics globally. He and his team took a hardcoded landing page in 2010 and turned it into what it is today – a multi-modal mobile and desktop solution that helps Amazon customers self-service their returns in the most convenient ways. He was responsible for building every piece of the global infrastructure involved in returning products – from customer online tools to transportation to material handling to inventory control, the engineering systems underlying all of these parts, along with P&L responsibility for the business globally. Few things at Amazon are more customer facing, technically complex or require more ability to think through the entirety of the customer experience and its global variations. Subsequently, Shivi supported all of Amazon’s global Device org (every Alexa device and the Alexa service itself), as well as Prime Video, Amazon Music, Twitch gaming – globally. He owned product, software, data science and operations for this organization, working directly for the SVP of the organization, who reported to Jeff Bezos.
