About Shiyi Wu

I have about 20 years experience in software development, especially C++ and object-oriented programming. I'm fast learner, self motivated and autonomy. Most my development knowledge and skill come from self study. Started with ns2, a network simulator using C++ and Tcl/Tk in LINUX/UNIX platform, to evaluate network protocol performance when I was Ph. D student and research engineer in EURECOM. After got my Ph. D, I joined Actix as software developer then grew into senior software developer and later system architect to maintain and develop Analyzer - a windows application to analyze mobile network (GSM/CDMA/UMTS/LTE/5GNR) performance. Although C++ is the main development language, some others are used, such as HTML/Javascript, Python and C#. Main achievement includes supporting multithreading, implementing kafka/avro producer, adapting Analyzer into linux+WINE for microservice.

    Main achievement including take part in microservice project to adapt our product, windows based application, into microservice environment as data process engine via LINUX WINE. The challenge includes working out the dependencies, minimizing source code change and maintaining performance. Also helped to create docker file for future deployment. Before that I implemented Kafka/Avro in our software so that it can be used as Kafka producer.
